So I went and saw Batman on Saturday night and I had really extremely high hopes for this film. It did not fail to impress. This movie....oh my god, was amazing from start to finish. While the last 45 minutes there were a couple of scenes where they could have ended it, I'm glad they wrapped it up the way they did because it left no question in your mind about what happens next- except for a few of the characters. The story went a full circle and I love when films do that. You can leave the theatre and feel content with what you just saw and can reflect on the sheer AWESOMENESS of it all.
Performances were great, but I think Heath Ledger (The Joker) outacted everyone in it, but it worked because The Joker is that by nature. It made me very sad though to watch it because of the performance Heath Ledger did and knowing that he wasn't able to see his finished product and receive all the credit he deserved. He did an absolutely perfect job at this character. He was The Joker. BETTER THAN JACK.
Christian Bale did a great job, but I feel he was outshined quite a bit. There was only a couple really memorable things he did in the film that stuck out and they weren't 10 minute long speeches or anything, they were about 2 second pieces from an action sequence. I thought his Batman voice from the first movie to the second was a lot more exaggerated and needed to be toned down a bit. But I do have to say, he played the Dark Knight fantastically. He embodied the conflict and strife Batman was going through during this time very well.
Aaron Eckhart did a great job at Harvey Dent/Two Face, especially during his transformation. (NO SPOILERS) BETTER THAN TOMMY LEE. Though that really isn't hard to do considering the Two Face from Batman Forever hardly had a backstory at all and no one really understood why he looked the way he did. It is all witnessed in this film!
I really hope that Christopher Nolan directs the next Batman as well. He really understands the dark universe surrounding Gotham City and the story of Batman and anyone else I think wouldfuck it up. He does a great job choosing the right actors for parts, his scripts are fantastic, and I also think the reason the two Batman's did so well was because he purposely doesn't use CGI to create all the explosions and stuff. THOSE ARE REAL. So, I bow to Christopher Nolan! THANK YOU FOR THIS AMAZING FILM.

Wow - I am even more excited to see this. I recently re-viewed "Batman Begins" in preparation, but who knows when I'll get to go? (Maybe while I'm in Ogden this weekend, hmmm?)
I got a huge kick out of your photo, too!
